Mushrooms are so yummy in everything. I find it a challenge to fry them so they get that nice golden colour when I'm making meat. Is it true you should never stir mushrooms? That just tossing them in the pan gives better results? Any simple cooking tips for us novices?

@Meadow - The best thing that you can do is fry the mushrooms seperatly from the meat in their own non-stick pan.
It's ok if you stir the mushrooms, since you need to cook them on very high heat to the get cripsyness. Tossing them works well too!
It just so happens that our last Fresh Simple Good Newsletter focued on how to make Perfect Sauteed Mushrooms, you can download it here:

As for my simple cooking tip; all you really need to know how to do is saute mushrooms. That saute can then be added to anything: soups, salads, pastas, or on meat. It's fast and simple!
