Happy Canada Day!

We're dawning our red and white today in celebration of our nation's 147th birthday. Each year, we come together to be with our community, light fireworks, and enjoy some good food and drink.

How are you celebrating this year?

In typical fashion, I'm off to a backyard barbecue and I wouldn't have it any other way. I always try to come up with a great appetizer to bring, so I've pulled together some of my favourites to narrow down my choices and help you with your decisions as well. Happy eating and enjoy!

Bacon, Walnut and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
These are a tasty and easy appetizer that can be made even more appropriate for the holiday by using Canadian bacon!

Barbecued Mushroom and Spinach Pizzettes
Light and nutritious, these are great for grilling and swimsuit season.

Enoki Salmon Rolls
Cold appetizers are ready in no time and will be eaten up just as quickly!

Fresh Mushroom and Tomato Salsa
You can't go wrong with a homemade batch of chips and salsa for the holiday.

Halloumi Kebabs
Eating with your hands is tradition at a barbecue and these skewers are no exception!

What are you bringing to the barbecue?
